Introducing: MY NEW JOB!

Hello World!

OK, now I’m back will try to write again in english!

I guess you already now last week I start my new job. So, just to let you know, I dedicated this post to MY NEW JOB!

Company: Porter Novelli

Core Work: Outsourcing of Communication strategy and Public relations.

My Position: Executive Consultant (that looks very important! Hahah)

My responsibilities:
Developing the relationship with some specific customers doing consultancy and implementing a tracking system for every one in my Corporate Portfolio that includes projects with Avon, Colgate, EXXON, INGUAT, and other 5 companies.

The BEST thing:
I am doing a THOUSAND different things EVERY day, I am totally loving that. An example of one day will be like this; in the morning I check general agenda for the day (with my assistant), after that maybe some meeting with a company, after that EXECUTION time for other 2 or 3 companies, after that maybe lunch!, after that doing some companies meeting, sending documents, checking if we are running our Weekly priorities with EACH company, attending MORE meetings, etc. And, when I see the watch: 5 pm, almost 6! Time to go home!

The WORST part: I am working after 6pm ALMOST every day, I think in the long term I am NOT self-sustainable at all.

Some of the things that I am enjoying the most, is that we are having learning circles about different relevant issues, for example, I already attended 2 about Election time in Guatemala.

Other thing that we do (every two weeks, Im not sure because I have just 1 week there), is Lecture Groups. We read a book, and after that we have a learning circle (YES they LOVE it, and I DIDN’T create them!), regarding how the topic is actually linked with our work.

The random things:

- We have a TEST every week about our gramatic!! (in the first one I got almost the last position!! SORRY FOR ALL THE TEACHERS THAT SPEND THEIR TIME ON ME!, I will be better next Monday! I PROMISE)

- We ALSO have a test regarding the books that we read! That is a bit extreme since my perspective, but I don’t create the rules, I only follow them!

- All the people (except for 2: IS & Finance) are WOMEN! So, you can imagine the conversations, environment, and laughs are all day long. BUT, please imagine how stressful it gets sometimes! (23 girls trying to deal with more than 40 companies and projects!)

The fear: Not to learn as fast as I need to do all the things that I have to manage and deal with!

As you can see, it’s completely different for the job that I had one year ago in AIESEC Southern Cone, but the stress keep in the same level, and that for me, only make it more interesting, just discover new things, manage a complete porfolio, developing my knowledge in terms of communication and marketing skills, all that I can say is that, until now, I am very motivated to learn everything about Communications strategy and how to develop this kind of outsourcing.

Thousand goals, 8 different companies, good work environment, a lot of new people (I am not feeling like “the new one” anymore!), a good boss (I hope that continue!!), and good wage (that is the main difference between AIESEC and this, but you cannot compare!).

Just in a few words: AS I LIKE: LOT OF STRESS, LOT OF LEARNING, AMAZING EXPERIENCE WITH EVERY THING I AM DOING NOW, FEELING AWESOME BY THE MOMENT IN THIS NEW CHAPTER IN MY LIFE!

I promise pictures soon!!

Yours,

Gaby

:) !!! Tanto tiempo!

Family Time! Mi papi!!! y mi abue! Los amo muchísimo!

G7 Reloaded! (Taty Y Liz no pudieron ir) Estuvo demasiado bueno!!

By the way, Im hired! Proximos blogs; mi trabajo y las entrevistas!!

yours,

Gaby

Gaby is back!

So, guess What?!!?!

I AM BACKKKKKK!

After some days without any post, Im here just to tell what happened since last time I wrote until TODAY!!

Some facts:

1- I am back in Guatemala!! (aaaaaeeeeehhhhh!!!)
2- I just finished one complete month of relax and vacations! Sleeping for a complete week, eating all the things that I miss the most, talking a LOT with every single person, and getting some chocolates from EVERYWHERE! (I am not getting fat -yet-).
3- Now, I have all the attitude to do my 2 final tests at university the next months, and right after that, go for my eXchange, BUT (yes, there is a BUT!), I have to pay some stuffs before, SO thats made me change the first plan and, GET A JOB!
Besides all, I am living the Reintegration phase, and I all that I have to say, its that I hate it! Its something that I was no prepare at all, but even when I hate it, the most important thing is that I am learning how to handle this. Any comment is very welcome!

So, new cycle for me!!

The first one out of AIESEC...
and it´s not easy, but I am happy...
yours,

Gaby
